Obituary of Ronald A. Krueger

Parkston – Ronald A. Krueger, 83, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, February 28 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral service will be Monday, March 5 at 10:30 am at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4th, from 5 to 7 pm at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston with a 7:00 pm prayer service following. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Ronald A. Krueger was born October 18, 1934 to Adolph and Lydia (Tiede) Krueger in Parkston, SD. He grew up on the farm and attended a nearby country school. After graduating the 8th grade, Ron stayed home and helped his parents operate the family farm. He entered the United States Navy on January 31, 1956 and served until his honorable discharge on November 29, 1957. He moved back to Parkston and began working for Agland Coop. Ron was united in marriage on February 4, 1959 to Marcia Snyder; the couple was blessed with two sons, Lon and Kelly. In 1978, he began Ron's Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a proud member of the Parkston Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, wine making, canning pickles, attending the White River Rodeo and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his 2 sons: Lon Krueger of Spearfish, SD and Kelly (Michelle) Krueger of Spearfish, SD; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer, Amanda, Spencer and Zachary; and 3 sisters: Sally Shearer, Donna (Stan) Fetters and Shirley Iverson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marcia; a daughter-in-law, Diane; 3 brothers: Dennis, Arlo and Bill; and a sister, Delores Thury.
