Obituary of David LeRoy Johanneson

   Lake Andes - David LeRoy Johanneson, 70, formerly of Yankton, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Funeral service will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes at 10:30 AM with burial following in Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes.

   David LeRoy Johanneson was born on December 22, 1947 to Jens and Charlotte (Strid) Johanneson in Charles Mix County, SD. He attended country school near Lake Andes, SD and moved with his family to Mitchell, SD where he attended Mitchell High School. He moved to California for a short time, then returned to South Dakota and lived in Sioux Falls. After living in Sioux Falls, he moved to Yankton where he spent most of his life. He cared for his mother while living in Yankton. On June 10, 2015, he moved to Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell where he died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the age of 70.

   Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Marie Lou Connell of Yankton, SD, and many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, Ruth, Joyce, Pauline, and Deloris, and 4 brothers, Robert, Oscar, Dennis, and Jens.
