Obituary of Shirley Ann Myears

Shirley Ann (McCormick)  Myears was born on September 22, 1935 to Samuel & Olive (Leasure) McCormick in Wagner, SD. She attended school in Wagner where she enjoyed joking around & spending time with her loved ones.

On May 28, 1955, she married Gordon Myears & they lived in many areas in South Dakota as Gordon worked on building different Dams. They eventually made their home outside of Lake Andes, where she was a loving wife, home-maker, & mother as four children were born to their union. (Kathleen, Ernest, Mark & Duane)

Shirley is survived by one sister: Hazel (Lyle) Mason of Haywarden, IA . Four children: Kathy Young of Ft. Pierre, SD, Ernie (Tracy) Myears of Lake Andes, SD, Mark (Denise) Myears of Flandreau, SD, & Duane (Laurie) Myears of Remsen, IA. Nine Grandchildren: Shelly, Brandon, Sherry, Brittany, Sydney, Bridget, Dawson, Colin, & Brielle. Four Great-Grandchildren: Owen, Ava, Averie, & Ke'Ziah.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her Parents, Former Husband: Gordon, Two Brothers: Nelson & Harold, Two Sisters: Mildred & LaVelle, Son-in-Law: Dave & Grandson: Corbin.

She passed away at the age of 82, on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Lake Andes Senior living where she has resided since May, 1989. She & the family appreciates the exceptional care & companionship she has received while living there. She enjoyed drinking Tea, visiting everyone, giving gifts, singing at Church, & going on outings.
