Obituary of Hilda D. Schoenfelder

Parkston – Hilda D. Schoenfelder, 98, went to her heavenly home Thursday, November 23 at Avera Bormann Manor.  Funeral service will be Monday, November 27 at 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock with burial to follow the luncheon at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock beside her husband, Vic.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 26 from 6 to 7  pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock.

Hilda was born September 6, 1919 to Karl and Wilhelmina (Hoffman) Neugebauer on the family farm near Dimock, SD.  She attended country school near the farm and later moved to Mitchell, SD where she worked as a housekeeper.  She was united in marriage to Victor Schoenfelder on September 1, 1948 at Emsley Church.  They farmed west of Ethan, SD for a short time before moving to a farm near Dimock where they spend the rest of their lives.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML and enjoyed sewing.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Dennis Schoenfelder and special friend, Patsy Fodness of Dimock; 3 grandchildren: Neil (Mary) Schoenfelder of Anchorage, AK; Jed (Meagan) Schoenfelder of Dimock and Jeff (Amanda) Schoenfelder of Dimock; and 5 great-grandchildren:  Reed, Piper, Noah, Bennett and Brianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vic; a daughter-in-law, Carol; a brother, Gerhardt; and 2 sisters, Edna and a sister in infancy.
