Obituary of Wilma Norma Reimnitz
Parkston – Wilma Norma Reimnitz, 98, was welcomed to her heavenly home Sunday, September 15, 2024 surrounded by a host of angels and her family at Avera Bormann Manor. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 19 at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.
Remember me when I was still in my own home on the farm walking to the mailbox with my dog, Toby, or hanging out the wash on a windy summer day, or sitting at my sewing machine mending a rip in Dad’s overalls. Remember the birth of my six children, Darlene (Ron) Horst of Gregory, Larry (Lynn) Reimnitz of Huron; Judy (Louie) Hauser of Parkston; Sallie (Leon) Brink of Sioux Falls, Samuel Reimnitz of Armour and special friend, Joyce Semon, and John (Jennie) Reimnitz of Avon. Remember that my farm home was my castle and my priority was taking my family to church each Sunday and sharing my faith and love for Jesus. Remember my beginnings, the second of seven children born on the prairie just west of Parkston on October 22, 1925 to William and Maria (Reichert) Zirpel. Surviving are Martin (Mildred) Zirpel, Margaret Bertram and Edna (Dennis) Stoebner.
Remember my active participation at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Dimock where I was baptized on November 15, 1925 and confirmed on June 4, 1939 by Rev. Paul Hempel and united in marriage to Leonard Adolph Reimnitz on June 15, 1944 by Rev. John Dewald. We were able to share 59 ½ years together before his death on January 20, 2003. Also preceding me in death were 4 grandchildren, Robin Horst, Travis Renshaw, Melinda Renshaw, and Teresa Renshaw; my parents; 3 brothers, John, Wally, and Malvin; 2 sisters-in-law, Lillian Zirpel and Marlys (Herb) Moege; and in-laws, Louis and Doris Reimnitz, Dorthea and Otto Stahl, George and Anita Reimnitz, Lydia and Edwin Sigmund, Lena and Ivan Bialas, Robert Reimnitz and Paul and Beverly Reimnitz.
Remember my confirmation verse in Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Remember, dear children, to share that light and love with all my precious 19 grandchidren, Tracy (Jade) Siewert, Tanya (Scott) Cerney, Kelley Wolf, Wendy (Dave) Sporrer-Martinez, Blaine (Jolene) Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Ann (fiancee Jason Bednarz) Nelson, Darin (Christina) Williams, Judy (fiancee Chris Kramer) Davis, Shannon (Troy) Schrempp, Adam (Maureen) Brink, Stephanie (Mitch) Gesinger, Jordan (Sarah) Reimnitz, Lindsey Reimnitz, Seth (Nicole) Reimnitz, Lacey Reimnitz, Kaitlin (Ian) Vosburg, Kevin (Lauren) Reimnitz, and Trevor (Siera) Reimnitz, my great-grandchildren, and my great-great-grandchildren, especially Triston Lloyd's visits with grandpa Larry. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”
