Beitrus was born September 10, 1938 to Henry D. and Ruth E.(Davis) Wulf on the family farm 10 miles west of Stickney, SD.  She was the youngest of 15 children.  She was baptized on January 15, 1939 in American Lutheran Church and confirmed on July 19, 1953 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Plankinton, SD.  She attended Carber Country School near the farm through the 6th grade.  After the closing of the school, she went to live with her sister, Pauline and her husband, Chick Greene, in Plankinton where she completed 7th and 8th grade.  Her parents moved off the farm and into Stickney so Bea attended Stickney High School, graduating in 1958.  Soon after graduation, she began working as a telephone operator for Midstate Telephone Company in Stickney.  In 1959, she went to work at Roger’s Grocery Store and worked there for the next 24 years.  From 1983 until 1993, she worked part time as a janitor for Stickney Public Schools.  After that, she worked for Lyle and Jan Bruinsma at B’s market until 2001.  Later she worked for Experience Works, helped at the Senior Citizen’s Center and for the town of Stickney.  Bea enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows, find a word books, the occasional trip to a casino and watching Twins baseball.  She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.  In February of 2022, she moved into Leisure Living in Corsica, SD.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sister, Irene “Olive” Frauenfelder of Wamego, KS; a sister-in-law, Agnes Wulf of Haywarden, IA; a special friend, Mary Lee Podhradsky of Stickney; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 7 brothers, Albert, Vernon, Walter “Bing”, Barney, Lawrence, Richard and Henry Jr. “Little Hank”; and 6 sisters, Elaine Edinger, Henrietta Tille, Mickey Darrough, Pauline Greene, Violet Morrison, and Laura Buck.
