Obituary of Betty Jean Knodel

Armour - Betty Jean Knodel, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at Avantara Nursing Home in Armour from complications related to Covid. Private family services were held in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour.

Betty Jean (Dierks) Knodel was born on August 24, 1932 to Frances (Kroger) and Lyle Dierks, Sr. in Armour, SD.

She was united in marriage to Rueben H. Knodel in June of 1952 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour. Betty and Rueben enjoyed 53 years together. This union was blessed with three children: Douglas Lee (Sharon), Mark Allen, and Tamara Kay.

Grateful for having shared Betty's life, her three children, five grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Jaime, Courtney and Carrie; two great-grandchildren: Isabella and Juliette; one sister: Maxine (Don) Todd; six brothers: Richard (Barbara) Dierks, Lyle "Bub" (Jan) Dierks, Jr., Duane (Polly) Dierks, Larry Dierks, Denny (Lila) Dierks and Jacque (Patty) Dierks; along with many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Rueben, precious daughter Tammy, dear granddaughter Jaime, brother-in-law, Don Todd, and brothers, Dick, Bub, Larry and Jacque.
