My deepest condolences for your whole family. I worked with Mr. Gramm in Parkston as a new teacher and remember how kind, funny, and helpful he was. He opened his home to us for a last episode of Seinfeld watch party and he shared many funny stories about his time as a referee. He was a great example in my early years of teaching and I will be forever grateful. He will be missed.

Eva, Mike & family, Jim & family, and Brian & family-- So sorry to hear of Gerald's passing. You are all so lucky to have had him as part of your family. I have lots of great memories of Mr. Gramm as my teacher at Avon High School. I can still see him walking into class in his banana yellow leisure suit! He made learning fun.

Eva, Mike and family, Jim and family, Brian and family,
I had the privilege of being one of Mr. Gramm's students when he was a teacher and coach in Avon. His ready smile and kindness in connecting with students and athletes left a lifelong impression of respect and admiration. I'm remembering one Friday evening when I was a football stat and he needed something from the High School. He asked me to drive his car there to pick up what he needed and I was hesitant to do so as I didn't want to accidentally cause any harm to his car. His faith and smile assured me that all was well, so off I went - he was right! Crazy how something so small to him made such a memorable impact for me!
May the days and evenings to come bring you rest and assurance in an earthly life well lived and now a life in Heaven where there is no more pain and suffering. Let the love of others comfort you as time and circumstances allow.

Gerald was a great ambassador for activities programs in the state of South Dakota. I was fortunate to work with Gerald through basketball with his leadership as Executive Director of the SD Basketball Coaches Association. His teams were always well prepared and he was truly a gentleman of the game. Gerald will be missed but never forgotten by those whose lives he touched through education.

My heart is hurting along with you! Mr. Gramm (I still have a hard time calling him Gerry.) was such a kind, fun-loving person. He had a quick, contagious smile and an infectious laugh.
