Obituary of Maggie Berg

Parkston – Margaret "Maggie" Ann Berg, 62, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, February 12 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, February 18 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Monday, February 17 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston.

Maggie was born February 9, 1958 to Lorimar and Patricia (Moderegger) Petersen in Yankton, SD. She attended Yankton High School and graduated in 1976. She worked for a short time Gurney Seed Company in Yankton. She was united in marriage to Leo Berg on August 20, 1984 in Yankton. The couple made their home in Parkston, SD where Maggie ran a daycare from her home. She began working for Neumayr Drug and eventually Parkston Drug as a pharmacy technician. She most recently worked for the Parkston School District. Maggie loved spending all the time she could with her children, Tim and Kaitlyn and their dog, Bailey. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with friends and family, golfing and watching scary movies with Kaitlyn while sharing a bowl of popcorn. She was an active member of the Parkston Fire Auxiliary. Maggie went to her heavenly home Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 62.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Leo of Parkston and a daughter, Kaitlyn Berg of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Timothy.
