Yankton – Jens Arnold Johanneson, 73, went to his heavenly home Monday, January 30 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Memorial service will be Thursday, February 2 at 2:00 pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes. Jens was born September 11, 1943 to Jens and Charlotte (Strid) Johanneson in Charles Mix County, SD. He attended country school near Lake Andes, SD and moved with his family to Mitchell, SD where he attended Mitchell High School. He moved to Omaha, NE where he worked for Goodwill Industries driving truck. Jens moved back to Mitchell and cared for his parents. He moved to Pasedena, CA where he attended school and lived for a short time. He moved to Yankton, SD where he resided until recently. Tinkering with cars was one of his favorite hobbies. Jens went to his heavenly home Monday, January 30, 2017 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell at the age of 73. Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Marie Lou Connell of Yankton; a brother, David Johanneson of Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters: Ruth, Joyce, Pauline an Deloris; and 3 brothers: Robert, Oscar and Dennis.
