Very sorry for your loss.
My Uncle Fritz was a very wonderful man, and I knew him since I was a very small boy, I actually stayed with Betty and him for a few weeks one summer in Perris, California to pick potatoes. That lasted only a few weeks because crawling under a tractor to cool off in 120+ degree heat got old really fast.
Uncle Fritz always treated me and my brother with the highest respect. My first son joined the Air Force with my encouragement, wanting him to be like my uncle. My latest adopted Thai son is going to MEPS Tuesday. Perhaps if he drops Fritz's name they;ll make him a "Chief Master Sergeant", too.
I remember him calling his sister (my mom) a few days before she passed which really pepped her up.
