Obituary of Harlan T. Hysell

   Geddes - Harlan T. Hysell, 84, died at Good Samaritan Society in Corsica on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes with burial following in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Geddes. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5 - 7 PM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

   Harlan T. Hysell was born on July 16, 1934 to Henry and Goldie (Beauchamp) Hysell in Herrick, SD. He attended country school near Herrick, the Red White & Blue Country School near Geddes, and graduated from Geddes High School. He worked construction at Ft. Randall Dam in Pickstown, road constructions, for Carl Tanks Trucking, and was a dispatcher for Charles Mix Law Enforcement where he retired. He married Marlene Biggins on March 18, 1952 in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes. Harlan was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the Geddes Fire Department. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs, square Dancing, Playing cards, announcing Legion and Town Team baseball games, and his grandchildren. He died on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Corsica at the age of 84.

   He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Corsica, SD, 5 children, Roberta (Richard) Strehlow of Geddes, SD, Ronald (Sherry) Hysell of Naples, FL, Donna Paulson of Geddes, SD, Dennis (Marlys) Hysell of Roscoe, SD, and Brenda (Ray) Hermanek of Lake Andes, SD, 2 brothers, Robert (Annette) Hysell of Neosho, MO and Arthur (Jan) Hysell of Atkinson, NE, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law, John Biggins of Sioux Falls, SD.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bonnie Plooster, in-laws, Clyde and Josephine Biggins, and sister-in-law, Marianne Biggins.
