Obituary of Elizabeth Jean Runge

Elizabeth "Beth" Jean Runge, 32, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, September 26 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral service will be Monday, October 1 at 10:00 am at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mitchell. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30 from 5 to 7 pm at the United Church of Christ in Mitchell. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Beth was born June 18, 1986 to Dennis and Karen (Adkins) Runge in Fort Collins, CO. She was baptized into the Christian faith in 1986 and confirmed in 2001. She moved to Madison in 1989 and Mitchell in 1992. She attended Mitchell High School, graduating in 2005, and Northern State University in Aberdeen. She moved back to Mitchell where she worked for Ruby Tuesdays and daycare. In 2011, she moved to Parkston. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mitchell and enjoyed scrapbooking; arts and crafts; traveling, especially to Rough Rock Falls; music; teddy bears; puzzles and word searches.

Grateful for having shared her life are her parents, Karen Adkins-Runge of Parkston and Dennis Runge of Mitchell; a brother, Jesse Runge of Mitchell; 5 aunts and uncles: Bill (Helen) Runge of Mitchell; Sue (Richard) Pibal of Pierre; Dan (Marsha) Runge of Eureka Springs, AR; Stan (Paula) Adkins of Scottsdale, AZ; and Brenda (Leon) Hinman of Lake City; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Gladys Runge and Cliff and Jean Adkins and an aunt, Sharon Hollister.
